I did it!

After months of preparation I've applied to Reel FX again!

It wasn't quite there yet so I've been busting my butt , working on some new pieces, trying out different things, as well as fixing some old pieces. Some exciting news. My new reel officially has no SCAD work on it anymore Woop Woop!

Hey Everyone!

November has been an exciting month lots of updates.

The past couple of months Ive been working hard to prepare for the next Reel Fx apprenticeship!

Earlier this month their facebook page turned 1 year old so I decided to make a little gift for them.

This is the original video that i spoofed. 

And Here is my spoof. I got lucky cause it was a nice sunny day out and when i set up to film the weather took a turn for the worst which was awesome

I also shave some work on display right now at Urban Brew Cafe in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. I found out about the show kind of last minute and I had been busy animating away, however I ended up hanging 3 old pieces and i managed to squeeze this little guy out. to have something new for the show.



Id like to do a crash dummy series Ive got a couple mroe characters sketched out which should be fun.

I've also been slaving away on my ReRun animation. 1 cold and many late nights later here it is

I have a couple more projects in the works as well. Before applying to Reel FX I have an older animation i'd like to fix up.

Also The past 2 years I've made holiday cards. So no point in stopping this year. I've been working on my cards recently the characters are pretty funny this year.

In the next couple of weeks I will also be working on a new painting for the tates local artists square show that opens in January on my birthday!

Hey my last couple of projects I've been experimenting a lot with some cartoony goodness and here is my latest attempt! My first time trying a dance since back when i first started animating and didn't know how to use maya haha

A Rocky Finale!

A rocky situation is complete! I think this may be one of the most cartoony things ive done to date! Im pretty happy with the turn out hope you guys enjoy!

Also Ive been working on my next piece of animation as I finalized this past one. Im gonna attempt some dancing. I shall be animating ReRun. Gonna try and have it finished blocking tonight and it should be up on the old blog in a few days or less hopefully

Monsters Under My Bed!

Hey guys seems i had a little mix up. I said the painting was gonna be in New Times Magazine. I read the email wrong it was actually City Link not New Times. Whoops! Heres the link to the write up!

Its awesome that they used my painting as part of the preview. I picked up the new City Link today to check out the article. They didnt end up using my painting in the print article but its still awesome that its up on the web article.

I usually wait to post the paintings up until fter the show but since it got used in an online article i might as well post it here now! Ill throw in a little something extra you cant get from the article or the show

Then i was gonna try it out with watercolor but it wasnt coming how i wanted to and time was runnign short so i went on to my usualy acrylic on cavas and heres the final product

So i planned this out way back in May and I had it set up to start working on but then I decided to work on some other stuff and kinda put this on the back burner for a while. A few paintings and some animations later Im back to it and here is the blocking! Enjoy!

Monsters Under my Bed / New Times

So October is just around the corner again and that means its time for another Tate's local artists show!
This years theme is childhood fears. This show is gonna be BIG! Over 200 artists are participating this time around.

Heres the flyer for the show

I have decided to start branding myself as Bruckaroni so from now on all my paintings and artwork will be signed as bruckaroni. Unless the painting is too small then I will be signing it like I signed my nerd painting. This flyer is the first flyer with that name!

Today I got contacted by a local entertainment newspaper New Times. They are doing a preview and write up for the show. They are going to be using my painting in the preview! Print and on their blog. This is super exciting news to me.  So I will post that article as soon as its published.

I have also been working on a new animation and the blocking for that should be up within the next couple of days!

Strictly for the Nerdcore

I just randomly did this painting the other day. My friend was feeling down in the dumps and going away to college so i decided to make her a little something for her dorm room. Its really small only 4x 5 but im pretty happy with how it turned out! Its got my new signature on it for small paintings. I also developed a new signature for my larger paintings as well.

Alright so this character was originally sketched while I was talking to some douche bag car salesman. 



Then I went ahead and refined him a bit to look like this



Then i put it in photoshop to get a rough idea for color



and now for the final product!

11 secoond club final!

So I finished my piece in time and i was pretty satisfied with it. 233 people entered this month! I knew i wouldn't win but i though maybe id get top 20. Things didnt work out that way. The one that won tho was awesome i thought that one would win. So I ended up placing 112 place which is right about in the middle but compared to what was entered I feel like i should have been placed higher. Oh well at least I have a new piece for my demo reel!

This month ill be working on a new painting or illustration for the upcoming Tates Monsters under my bed show. Its a childhood fears show and I have a clown character I like that im gonna probabaly use. Ill post more about it later gotta get ready for work! Hope you enjoy the animation

11 second blocking

Alright so I decided to do this months 11 second club. Its something somewhat new to me i dont tend to try and animate subtly and emotionally but im gonna give it my all and see if i can win! or at least make the top 10 thatd be pretty awesome too. Anyways here is my final pass at blocking.

Rejection, Duurassic Park and 11 Second Club

Its been a while since i posted anything. Ill probabaly be updating this thing more often now that im gopnna start getting back into the swing of things again.

Anyways about 3 or so weeks ago I found out i wasnt accepted for the Reel FX apprenticeship however they will be doing it again in February so im gonna just keep on working on improving my reel and hope for the best come next year.

Also a few weeks ago i participated in the Pinkghost Book It show



Im pretty satisfied with how my piece came out. At first i thought it would be weird painting on a book but it was actually pretty fun.

Also I took about a month or so long hiatus from animating but im ready to get back into it and start improving my demo reel and skills. Im anxiously awaiting to find out what the new 11 sec club sound clip will be for july and if i like it then that will be my new project. If not ill be going back to my rock project i started a while back. Either way there will be more updates coming!

Harry Trotter!

So the doctor has  inspected Harry Trotter's Neck issues and have approved him to start running all over the internet now. Woohoo!

Its the Final Pole Vaaaaaaaault

I decided to fix the pole vault some more because now that i see it fixed the old way sucked. Thanks every one for the 80 views on the previous pole vault tho! thats awesome. Lets see if this one can beat it! I also decided to vut out the thumbs up at the end of the video. I never had a problem with it then one of my friends suggested to take it out so i looked at it without it and i think it helps it stay funny without the thumbs u. after viewing it again with the thumbs up after i took it out i realized it kinda just made the piece drag on. So ive decided to cut it.

Horses with Four Legs and Nubs, OH MY!

So Ive been animating a lot lately got 3 projects going on right now! I was slightly terrified of animating something with four legs but i pushed through it! The project isnt finished yet but I got some cycles to show you guys

now my next step is to make a nice smooth transition from that walk to the run. however before i do that im going to go back to my pole vault project and try and polish it up a little bit more.

 also i have another project im planning out as i work on this other stuff and this little guy will be one of the 2 characters i shall be using!


 oh one more last thing. One of my favorite stores to shop at Pinkghost is having a open call to all artists to participate in their upcoming gallery show. So im working on coming up with some ideas for that as well!

Pole Vaulting Final?

 So a while back i kept laughing at that stupid line from land of the lost for one of those inspirational posters. It said if you dont make it its your own damn vault and it had a picture of a pole vaulter and i kept laughing about it so it inspired me to do a pole vaulting animation. I needed some more physical stuff for my reel anyways so it just seemed to make sense to go ahead and do it. the piece is finally finished! I think haha  Check it out yo

also last month i participated in the florida themed show at Tates Comics / Bear and Bird gallery.



I wasnt completely satisfied with my piece i submitted but i guess someone liked it because i sold it! Woohoo!!! It was pretty exciting when everyone at the comic book store kept telling me i sold my piece.



I was finally able to find an animal rig that seems pretty decent so now for my next piece of animation ive decided to try and animate a horse! Its gonna be intense ive never animated  quadruped before. Heres a picture of the horse.

Pole Vault Blocking Revised!

Alright heres the revised version of my blocking. I believe it will be my final blocking and I shall now move forward into smoothing it out. Heres hoping itll smooth out nicely!

Also I never posted this yet but I will be participating in another Tates local artist group show again! This time the shows theme is Florida. I shall be drawing some flamingos this time around. Should be funny hopefully! ill post a flyer for the show when it comes out. The deadline is Feb 22nd to turn in work so maybe ill post some sketches or something soon MAYBE i dunno well see what happens. Oh yea also im gonna be doing a digital print this time around instead of an actual painting.

Pole Vaulting into the New Year

So after technical difficulties with the pole rig i finally have some progress with my pole vaulting animation. Hopefully when it comes time to smooth it out everything will work alright. For now tho here is the super rough blocking. The actual blocking should be going up sometime this week hopefully maybe in the next day or 2. HOPEFULLY!
